Become a Foster. Save a life.

Pork Chop prior to Rescue

Pork Chop’s glowup while in Foster Care!

Deciding to become a Foster can seem like a big decision! LPC does not have a physical kennel or shelter location so we operate only with people willing to temporarily house our dogs. Sometimes dogs need a place to heal physically or mentally before they become adoptable. Occasionally, we have nursing or pregnant momma’s that need a safe place to raise and wean their puppies. We try to partner with many shelters surrounding Central Kentucky. Some more rural areas really struggle with finding suitable homes for pitbull type dogs so when we are able, we will pull from a shelter to help overcrowding and give a dog the best possible chance of finding a home.

LPC provides coverage for all costs of a dog while they are being fostered. This includes all vetting- routine and emergency, dog food, crate, puppy pads or specialized supplies. Our community is so gracious with donations and this is how we are able to continue to successfully adopt out dogs.
